Friday night in Manning Park, Montecito. A couple walked out of a wine bar around 9:30 to a 2018 E-Pace that wouldn't respond to the fob. Doors locked, no passive entry, nothing. They figured they were stranded until Monday when the dealer opened.
I was about twelve minutes out with the van already loaded. Jaguar smart key blanks, ID49 chips, HU101 blade stock, CR2032 cells, and JLR-compatible programming hardware. All in labeled drawers behind the driver's seat. I don't order parts when someone calls.
Their fob was the KOBJXF18A, five-button smart key. Popped it open on the hood. The CR2032 was completely flat. Swapped in a fresh one and the passive entry came back on the spot, handles responding, tailgate button alive again. Ran a quick re-registration through the OBD port to confirm the KVM still recognized both of their fobs. Engine fired on the first push of the start button.
