I was parked near the steakhouse lot in Midtown Ventura, finishing up a different job, when the call came in. A semi-retired architect had been driving his 2006 Jaguar X-Type with a single key since he picked it up certified pre-owned. He finally called the Jaguar dealer about getting a spare cut and programmed. Forty minutes, start to finish. He never moved the car. I tested the lock, unlock, and the other buttons, verified the key turned in the ignition cleanly, and showed him the wafer decode printout so he actually understood how his own lock works.
He saved a good chunk compared to the dealer quote and spent that morning exactly the way he planned.
