I got a call from a woman over in the College area of Ventura. She'd locked her spare key inside the house, her daily driver key for the Baja had snapped off in the ignition cylinder, and she had somewhere to be. Not a great morning.

The broken blade was still seated in the cylinder, so I extracted that first. Once the cylinder was clear, I pulled the key code and cut a new blade on site. The transponder in the original key head was intact, so we transferred what we needed and got the new key programmed to the vehicle. She had a working key and a spare before noon.
She mentioned she'd looked up my license before calling, which I appreciate. A lot of people don't, and then they end up with someone who can't actually finish the job. She'd had that happen before with a different car.
