2010 Volkswagen CC Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I got a call from a woman in Strathearn on a Tuesday morning. She works as a preschool aide and her 2010 CC was sitting in the parking lot, completely unresponsive to her key. Not a dead battery situation -- she'd already swapped in a fresh CR2032 at the gas station next door. The fob still wouldn't lock or unlock the doors, and the car wouldn't start.
She had kids arriving in about twenty minutes.
I was already running a call nearby so I pulled into the lot while she was still on the phone with me. First thing I did was check the fob contacts and confirm the new battery was seated correctly. It was. The fob itself had given up.
I plugged into the OBD port, ran the security access sequence with my VW-specific tool, and while the system processed I prepped the new flip key and cut the blade on my mobile cutter. The security access on these takes a minute or two -- there's a timed handshake involved and you don't rush it. Once it cleared, I registered the new key, confirmed the blade turned the door lock manually, then tested every button and verified the engine started clean.
She was walking through the front door of the daycare about fifteen minutes after I arrived. A little late, but not absent.
She mentioned the dealer had told her earlier in the week it would take two to three days once they got the part in. She didn't have two to three days. That's usually how it goes.
