2015 Volkswagen CC Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A guy up in Mountclef Ridge called me on a Tuesday afternoon. He had a 2015 Volkswagen CC and one working key. His second fob had the blade snapped off - sitting on his kitchen counter, blade separate from the body, completely useless. He'd been driving on one key for three months and kept meaning to deal with it.
He wasn't sure if he wanted OEM or aftermarket and asked me directly which one he'd actually be happy with day to day. I told him the honest version: OEM comes with the VW logo on the housing and a factory part number on the invoice, and that's basically where the difference ends if the aftermarket blank is quality stock. Same blade profile, same button count, same battery, same programming process.
I pulled up to his place with an aftermarket blank I'd already tested from the same batch I've been running on VW jobs. Cut the blade to his vehicle on the spot. Plugged into the OBD port and registered the new key through the software. Tested lock, unlock, and the other two buttons. Flipped the blade in and out a few times to make sure the mechanism was solid.
The whole thing took maybe 35 minutes at his curb. He asked what the dealer would have charged. I told him it would've been a lot more, plus he'd have had to leave the car there. He said he probably would have kept putting it off if I hadn't come to him.
That's usually how it goes.
