Got a call from someone over near the Daily Drive commercial area in Camarillo. She had one flip key left for her 2016 Tiguan and it was falling apart. The housing was cracked along the seam, the flip blade was loose, and the lock button had stopped responding. She had already called the VW dealer and they told her to bring the car in, leave it, and plan on a few days.

I showed up with the NBG010180T blank, cut the HU162T blade on my Condor, and sat down with my IM608 on the OBD port. The 2016 Tiguan uses IMMO4 with an ID48 chip, so programming goes through the instrument cluster. Pulled the login, matched the new transponder, synced the four-button remote. The whole thing took about 35 minutes.
The part she kept looking at was the new key itself. Same flip action, same VW emblem on the back, same button layout. She opened and closed the blade a few times like she was testing it against her memory of the old one. Then she tried all four buttons from across the lot. Lock, unlock, trunk, panic. All clean.
I erased the old broken key from the system so it could not start the car even if someone found it later. She kept her Tiguan the whole time, never left the parking lot, and saved a good chunk over what the dealer quoted her.
