That meant I could read the transponder data with my VVDI2 and skip the full CEM bench procedure, which on these P2 Volvos involves pulling the module from behind the glove box and reading the NEC processor directly. Big time saver.
I extracted the blade fragment from the door cylinder, decoded the lock wafers, and cut two fresh blades. Rebuilt her remote into a new LQNP2T-APU shell with the salvaged board and chip, then programmed the second key clean.
She watched the whole thing from about three feet away. When both keys started the car and all five buttons responded, she just stood there holding them like she didn't trust it yet.
Forty-five minutes, start to finish. A fraction of what the dealer quoted her, and she didn't have to tow anywhere.
