Got a call from a guy near Marina Park in Ventura. 2010 Volvo V70, push-to-start, zero keys. His last fob went through the wash two days earlier and never came back to life. He had been getting rides since then, trying to figure out what to do.
The dealer told him tow it in, order a key, wait five to seven business days for the fob to arrive from Volvo's parts pipeline, then another appointment for programming through VIDA. He just wanted to drive his car.
I showed up with my ACDP bench tool and pulled the CEM, which on the 2010 V70 is the P3 platform module (Delphi board) tucked behind the glove box area. Backed up the full EEPROM before touching anything. That is non-negotiable on these, because one bad write and the CEM is bricked. Generated the new key data from the secured dump, wrote the CEM back clean, then finished pairing the KR55WK49266 fob through the OBD port.
All six buttons tested good. Keyless entry, lock, unlock, trunk, panic, approach lighting. Engine started on the first press. He sat in the driver's seat for a second and just looked at the dash like he was waiting for it to complain again. It did not.
Whole thing took about an hour, right there on the street. A fraction of what the dealer route would have cost, and no tow, no wait.
