2025 GMC Yukon
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

2025 GMC Yukon Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

It was early on a Saturday morning in Old Town National City when the call came in. A guy had driven down to run errands and somewhere between locking up and walking back to his 2025 GMC Yukon, his only key was gone.

Not in his pocket, not on the ground nearby, not anywhere he could find it. The truck was just sitting there, locked up and completely indifferent to the situation.

He had already called the dealer. Monday was the earliest they could see him, and that was before the tow. He found me online and asked if I could actually get him back in and running the same day.

I told him I'd be there that afternoon.

When I pulled up, he was leaning against the front bumper looking tired in the way people look when a small thing has eaten their whole day. I got the door open without touching the paint, then decoded the lock to get exact cut depths for the new key blade. From there I connected through the OBD port and ran the all-keys-lost procedure on the vehicle security system, which wipes any previously registered fobs and enrolls the new one as the primary. The factory FCC ID on the new fob matched the dealer part number for this year and trim. I cut the blade, ran the programming sequence, and tested everything: doors, remote functions, ignition start.

He asked if I could cut a spare while I was already set up. I did.

Both keys worked before I packed up. He drove home. The whole job took under an hour in the lot, and he paid a fraction of what the dealer quoted before factoring in the tow. I didn't say anything about the dealer. He did.
