2007 Kia Sorento Remote Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A graphic designer in Coronado Village called me about a Sorento stuck on a narrow one-lane residential street with no room to turn around. A tow truck had already passed on the job. The dealer told him to get the car to them first. That was not helpful given he had no working key to move it with.
I parked at the bottom of the street and walked up with my bag.
The fob itself was the original, probably never replaced in the car's life. The flip blade had worn loose from the hinge over the years, and the housing had a crack along the spine from being dropped. The blade still tracked the cuts, which saved me the decode step. I transferred the internals to a fresh shell, confirmed the chip was reading correctly, and synced the remote functions.
The whole job happened on that hillside. His car never moved an inch. When it started right up he just stood there for a second like he had forgotten what that felt like.
The dealer route would have meant towing the car out first, scheduling an appointment weeks out, and paying for a full labor block. He avoided all of that.
