A guy in Berry Park, Imperial Beach called me on a Wednesday afternoon from a parking lot next to an alignment shop. He had already had a locksmith out. That locksmith left.
What happened was this: the original locksmith started a smart key programming sequence on his 2019 Sorento, the battery voltage dipped during the security handshake, and the immobilizer went into a fault state. Start to finish, about an hour and a half. The alignment shop guys watched the whole thing. The owner had already been quoted a flatbed tow plus a multi-day dealer visit before he found me. He paid a fraction of what that route would have cost him, and he drove out of that lot himself.
