2008 Kia Sorento Remote Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Del Mar Heights sits on a bluff and a lot of the driveways up there are long, steep, and private. That is exactly where this job landed.
A woman called about her 2008 Kia Sorento sitting dead in the driveway. She had lost the only key set she owned and had no way to move the car. Her daughter found me online and called from out of state to set it up. The owner just needed her car back.
I loaded everything for the Sorento and drove up. The driveway had a grade to it and the car was parked at the top. I decoded the door lock, cut a replacement key blade to match, and confirmed it turned the cylinder clean before moving to the fob. I connected through the OBD port, pulled the security data, and programmed a fresh 4-button remote to the vehicle. Then I walked every button, checked the trunk release, and had her turn the ignition herself so she knew it worked.
She started her own car in the same spot it had been sitting. No tow. No dealer appointment. No waiting.
The dealer option would have meant a flatbed to a service lane they were booking weeks out, for a total that was a fraction of what she would have paid them. That math is not complicated.
