For the 2004 Sentra, the blank has to be the correct profile to fit the ignition and door locks, and the key head has to contain the right transponder chip for this generation of the immobilizer system. A lot of blanks sold online are either the wrong profile, missing the chip entirely, or carry a chip that isn't compatible with this car.
