2025 Nissan Sentra
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

2025 Nissan Sentra Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

A web developer in the Bancroft neighborhood of Spring Valley called me on a Tuesday morning. He works from home, which meant the car had been sitting on a steep cul-de-sac for three days before he realized both fobs were gone. One probably left in a rideshare, the other he had not seen in longer than he wanted to admit.

The street was narrow enough that a tow truck driver had already refused the call. The dealer told him to get the car to them first, which was not possible without a key, which was the entire problem.

I parked at the bottom of the hill and walked up with my bag and a tablet running diagnostic software. All-keys-lost on the 2025 Sentra means the tool connects through the OBD port, reads the PIN from the immobilizer, and then uses that PIN to clear the key registry and register fresh fobs. There is a timed sequence built into the process that you cannot rush. I sat on the curb, ran the procedure, and registered two new fobs while his Sentra stayed exactly where it was parked.

Both fobs tested out. Doors, start button, the emergency insert blade in the door cylinder. Everything worked before I walked back down the hill.

The dealer comparison was almost a side note. He had already been told to arrange a tow before they would even write up the job. The car never moved.
