2010 Toyota Sequoia
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

2010 Toyota Sequoia Remote Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

Out in Libby Lake, a woman called me about a spare key for her 2010 Sequoia. She was not locked out, just smart about it.

She had priced a spare at the dealer first, and the quote came back in pieces: the fob from the parts counter, a cut fee, a programming labor charge, and shop supplies on top. She told me the total before she called me. I told her I could beat it, come to her, and do it on her schedule.

She works close to home, so I met her in the lot during her lunch break. The Sequoia was parked in a structure off the main road. I pulled up, got the OBD port connected, and ran the immobilizer read while she watched. The diagnostic equipment pulls a seed value from the vehicle's security system, calculates the authorization, and registers the new key to the car. On a 2010 Sequoia, the process is clean when you have the right tool. No guessing, no trial and error.

I cut the blade on my machine in the van, programmed the transponder and the remote functions together, and walked her through testing every button. Lock, unlock, panic, and the rear window. Then I had her start the truck twice to confirm the transponder was solid.

The whole job was done before her break ended. She got back inside and I was already pulling out of the structure. The dealer comparison came up once, and she said she saved a good chunk. That was the end of it.
