A homeowner in a gated community in Imperial Beach, right near Downtown IB, called because his 2021 Sequoia was parked in guest parking inside the complex and would not start. Swapped the CR1632, reseated it correctly, and the fob woke back up but the vehicle security system still would not pair reliably. The fob itself had some contact wear inside the housing. I built a replacement fob on site, programmed it through the diagnostic port, and walked every function: door handles, lock, unlock, the insert blade, all of it.
The Sequoia never moved. He did not need a tow, did not need an appointment, and did not need to wait days. I walked through a gate, fixed it in the parking lot, and walked out.
He mentioned what the dealer quoted just to tow and assess. What he paid me was a fraction of that, and he had a working key in his hand the same afternoon he called.
