A vet tech who works near the dog grooming place in Moorpark, over by the High Street Arts Center, had a 2013 A7 key made by another locksmith. Worked fine for about a week. Then it started getting weird.

I pulled her fob apart on the hood, read the chip with my VVDI2, and confirmed the crypto data was off. Programmed a fresh key with the correct Megamos AES generation matched to her 8T0959754G housing. Her CR2032 was also low, which made the intermittent detection even worse.
Tested every function: comfort access on all four doors, trunk button, push-to-start hot and cold. She stood there watching the dash like she was waiting for it to act up again.
It hasn't. The difference between a key that works and one that works for a week is chip accuracy.
