A driver on the shoulder of a road outside Oxnard had his key snap in the ignition of his 2010 Chevrolet Corvette. Half was stuck in the cylinder and half was in his hand. He called another locksmith first, and that locksmith told him the ignition would need to be drilled and replaced. New cylinder, new keys, $500 minimum. He called me for a second opinion.

I used my B106 Lishi to extract the broken fragment without touching the wafer surfaces inside. Once it was out clean, I decoded the lock by reading each wafer position for exact cut depths. His truck uses a transponder key, FCC ID M3N5WY7777A, separate from the remote. I cut the new blade from the decode and programmed the transponder through OBD.

No drilling and no cylinder replacement. His total was 279. The other locksmith's plan would have been 474 or more with a new cylinder. His original lock works with the new key exactly like it worked with the old one.
