I was parked off Saviers Road heading into the South Winds area of Oxnard when the call came in. The owner had already been burned once. I transferred the board to a fresh shell, cleaned the contacts, seated a new CR2032 correctly, and then ran a full relearn through the diagnostic port to make sure both functions were verified clean. All five buttons came back. Start was solid and consistent.
He mentioned the dealer had quoted him a number that made him wince. He paid me a fraction of that. He also said he was going to tell his buddy with a C6 about me, which is usually how it goes with Corvette owners.
