The key blank is an X214, same profile Isuzu used on the Rodeo because this truck is a rebadged Rodeo built at the SIA plant in Lafayette, Indiana. Honda just put their logo on the head.
I pulled the blank from my stock, decoded his existing key with calipers, and cut the spare on my machine right there in the lot. Took about ten minutes. He turned it in the ignition, started it, killed it, started it again, checked the doors and the tailgate. Everything matched.
He kept looking at the key head like something was missing. No chip inside, no circuit board, no battery. Just brass and nickel. I told him that is actually the good news.
