Start with the CR2032 battery. That's the most common cause on these fobs, and the battery can test at normal voltage on a meter but still not have enough output for the RF signal. Swap it with a fresh one from a reliable brand, not a discount shelf cell.

If a new battery doesn't fix it, check whether the car responds at very close range, like two or three feet. If it does at that distance but not from 15 feet, the fob is probably fine and you're just seeing the normal limited range on these remotes.

If it's completely dead at any range with a confirmed good battery, the fob itself may have failed, or it's lost its pairing. A locksmith can test whether the fob is transmitting and re-pair it if needed. That's a much cheaper fix than replacing the whole thing.
