Got a call from a guy over on the Westside in Santa Barbara. His 2006 LR3 HSE was sitting in his driveway, and the only key he had left was snapped at the blade fold. The flip mechanism had been getting loose for months, and that morning the blade just broke clean off where it pivots inside the fob shell.

I pulled up, set up on his driveway. Cut a new key blade for the NT8-15K6014CFFTXA fob using the lock code from the door, then paired the transponder through the OBD port. The CJB accepted the new key on the first pass. Tested all three buttons, cycled the ignition a few times, confirmed the immobilizer light on the dash dropped off clean.
He held up his old broken fob and just looked at it like it had personally insulted him. Said he'd been nursing it for six months, pressing the blade back in every time it popped loose.
Whole thing took about 40 minutes. One visit, driveway, done. He kept the car home and skipped the tow.
