Wilson Park call came in around noon. Guy's 2024 Corsair wouldn't recognize either of his smart keys after his kid played with them in the pool area.
Both fobs looked fine. No water damage visible. But the car kept throwing "No Key Detected" on the dash, and he was stuck using the emergency blade to unlock doors like it was 1995. The push button start just clicked and flashed red.
I tested both remotes with my frequency counter. Nothing. Dead air. Opened the first one on his tailgate, and there it was: corrosion on the main board where moisture had crept past the seal. These M3N-A2C931426 fobs aren't swim-proof.
Cut him a new blade on my van's Condor XC-Mini, then programmed a fresh 164-R8288 fob through the OBD port. PATS6 needs two programmed keys minimum before it'll let you add more yourself, so I knocked out a second one while I was there. Whole thing took maybe 40 minutes in his driveway.
The dealer quoted him three days out just for the appointment. Plus whatever they'd charge for two new smart keys and programming. I had him back on the road same afternoon for a fraction of that.
