Out in the Sweetwater area of National City, I got a call from a guy at a weekend tasting event at a property near the edge of town. Gravel lot, no cell signal to speak of, and his 2006 MDX had gone quiet on him. The fob stopped responding. He tried the buttons a few times, nothing. Then he noticed the emergency blade slot on the exterior door handle was packed with grit, so he could not even get into the car the backup way.
