The dealer process for a 2013 Cadillac CTS key looks like this. Call the Cadillac service center. Get transferred between departments. Schedule an appointment days out. Figure out how to get the car there, which means a tow truck. Sit in the lounge. Pay $572 plus whatever the tow costs. That's half a day gone at the minimum for one key.

A dentist in Spring Valley couldn't do any of that. He was between patients with a Cadillac key that had cracked at the blade, and the emergency blade was about to snap off completely.
