It was about 5:50 in the morning when my phone rang. Guy was already at his job site in Downtown Escondido, shift starting at 6, and his 2023 Traverse smart fob had given out on him overnight. Not a crack, not a lost key, just completely unresponsive. The vehicle wouldn't respond to the fob at all. He used the emergency blade inside the fob to get the door open, but the car wouldn't start.
