2011 Dodge Grand Caravan
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

2011 Dodge Grand Caravan Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

Out in San Pasqual Valley, a welder called me from his driveway on a weekday morning. He had a 2011 Grand Caravan with one working key and a long shift ahead of him.

He'd already called the Dodge dealer. They gave him a number that made him pause, told him to bring the vehicle in, and couldn't give him a solid appointment window. He works ten-hour days with his hands. Sitting in a service waiting room for half a morning wasn't something he could afford.

I pulled up before his shift started. He handed me the original fob so I could verify the key specs from the housing and VIN together. I decoded the blade right there at his door, cut the replacement, and ran programming through the OBD port. Both fobs tested out: lock, unlock, all buttons, and the blade in the ignition.

The whole stop was under 30 minutes. He made his shift. The dealer quote came up exactly once, when he mentioned what they wanted, and he just shook his head. I didn't have much to add to that.
