2006 Infiniti Fx35 Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I got a call from a building superintendent managing a luxury apartment complex in Carmel Mountain Ranch. He drove a 2006 Infiniti FX35 personally and also kept two company vehicles running for the property. He wanted a spare for his own car and backup keys for both work vehicles.
The dealer quote he got back was steep per key, times three. That math wasn't going to clear the building's monthly maintenance budget, and he knew it.
The bigger problem was logistics. He couldn't pull three vehicles off-site one at a time. When a water line goes or a tenant locks themselves out, those vehicles need to be on the property. A half-day at the dealer was not an option he had.
I drove out to the complex late one afternoon and set up in the parking structure. The FX35 runs a smart key system that requires diagnostic equipment to register any new fob to the immobilizer. Before I started adding keys across three vehicles in sequence, I backed up the immobilizer module data on each one. That's not a step I skip when I'm programming multiple keys in a single session. If something interrupts mid-write, I want a restore point.
He handled two tenant calls while I worked. I tested every fob individually on each vehicle before packing up.
Three vehicles, one visit, all spares labeled and working. He paid a fraction of what the dealer wanted for a single key, let alone three. He shook my hand and was back inside before the parking structure lights came on.
