I cut two emergency blades, built two new fobs with the cloned data, and tested both thoroughly. Her smart key, FCC ID , was a 3-button fob rebuilt into fresh shells. I showed her the chip from the cracked key so she could see it was still good.
She went from zero keys to two in about 40 minutes. Total was around $95. A full AKL would have cost more, and the dealer wanted $200 regardless. Even a broken fob isn't the same as no fob. Bring the pieces.
