2007 Infiniti M45
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

Q: How does mobile key replacement work for the M45?

You call, give me the year, make, model, and VIN. I confirm the right fob for your specific vehicle and give you a price before I show up. When I arrive, I connect to the OBD port with Infiniti-capable programming equipment, register the new Intelligent Key to the vehicle's security system, cut the emergency blade inside the fob to match your ignition and door, and run a full function test before I hand it over.

Q: What do I need to have ready when you arrive?

Valid photo ID and proof of ownership, registration or title. That's it. I pull the VIN from the dash plate or door jamb to confirm the exact key specs for your M45. No paperwork match, no key made. That applies to dealers too, and I verify everything on site before I start.

Q: My 2007 M45 shows a key warning on the dash and won't start. Is the fob dead or is there a bigger problem?

Start with the CR2032 in the fob. A low battery on the M45 Intelligent Key will trigger a key-not-detected warning and block the start sequence even when you're holding the fob right over the start button. Owners on M-chassis forums report this pretty consistently: the car seems to forget the fob overnight, then works again the next day, then stops for good.

Q: I bought a replacement fob online for my M45. Can I program it myself?

No. The 2007 M45 Intelligent Key has no owner-accessible self-programming sequence. There's no ignition-turn routine, no button combination that registers a new fob. Programming requires diagnostic equipment connected to the OBD port. If you bought a fob online, it still needs to be registered to your specific vehicle before it does anything. The fob also has a folded emergency blade inside that needs to be cut to your car.

2007 Infiniti M45 Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

I was parked near the Encanto Border side of Lemon Grove when the call came in. A woman had a 2007 M45 and needed a spare key made. Not an emergency, just smart planning. Her only key was getting worn and she didn't want to find out what all-keys-lost felt like on a Tuesday morning.

She'd already called the dealer. The quote was high enough that she said it out loud twice. A friend who'd had me do a Nissan told her Infiniti and Nissan run compatible systems on this generation, so I handle both.

When I got to the car, the first thing I did was confirm the fob she had. Four buttons, CR2032 inside, the factory fob matching what the M45 takes. The blade inside the fob was worn down at the tip, which is usually a sign the owner has been using the physical key more than they realize, probably for the door when the battery was low.

I pulled up the vehicle through the OBD port, read the security data, and registered the new fob. Cut the emergency blade to match the ignition cylinder and the door. Tested the remote functions, tested the door handle sensors, tested the start sequence. Everything paired on the first attempt.

Thirty minutes at her car. She ended up with a working spare and a fob battery swap on the original while I was there, because it was borderline. The dealer quote became a number she laughed about.

Infiniti M45 Mobile Service FAQ

Real costs, no dealer surprises

Do I need to bring my 2007 Infiniti M45 somewhere for key replacement?▼

No. I come to the vehicle, wherever it is. If you're in Lemon Grove or right along the Encanto Border, I can meet you at your driveway, your parking lot, wherever the car sits. The M45 key process runs through the OBD port, and I carry everything needed to do that on site. The dealer route means either driving in with a working key or getting the car flatbedded if you're all-keys-lost. Mobile service skips all of that.
