2014 Infiniti Q60
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

2014 Infiniti Q60 Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

Moving day doesn't negotiate. A homeowner in the middle of a divorce was at a pod storage facility out in Otay Mesa, early morning, when he realized his only key to the 2014 Q60 was somewhere inside the storage unit. Buried. The pod company was picking up at noon. Movers were already on their way.

He called me instead of digging.

I got to the facility in under an hour. The Q60 uses a four-button smart key with the factory FCC ID printed on the back, and this vehicle needed the full treatment: decode, cut, and program. I pulled the door lock profile with my decoder tool right there in the lot, cut the blade on my portable machine, then connected to the OBD port and registered the new key to the vehicle's immobilizer. It took a few extra minutes because I ran every function before I closed up: all four buttons, the door handle proximity approach, and a full start cycle. I don't leave until the key behaves exactly the way it should.

He was back directing movers within 45 minutes. He asked about the old key, whether it would still work if he found it in a box somewhere. On an add-a-key job where the previous fob wasn't erased, yes, the old one stays active. I told him that.

He mentioned what the dealer had quoted him during a call from the driveway. All I said was that he saved a good chunk, and he already knew that.
