2020 Infiniti Q60 Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A guy in Otay Mesa West had been running his 2020 Q60 hard. Detail shop regular, car meet crowd. At some point the battery got disconnected during a stereo install, and when everything came back on, the smart key did not come back with it. The car just sat there showing a key-not-detected warning like the fob was a stranger.
He called the Infiniti dealer. Thursday was the earliest they could take him, and they wanted the car for multiple days. He had plans that afternoon and was not leaving his Q60 anywhere for four days over a key registration.
He called me instead. I pulled into the detail shop around midday with the tools already in the van. Plugged into the OBD port, ran the Infiniti key learning sequence, and watched the security access handshake process in the background. That part is built in and takes what it takes. You do not rush it. From plug-in to confirmed start was about 25 minutes.
The key that had been invisible to the car was recognized again. Every function tested clean before I packed up.
He made his car meet. Dealer comparison was an afterthought by then, but he saved a good chunk and did not lose half a week. Infiniti and Nissan share the same key architecture on jobs like this, so these are procedures I run regularly. Nothing exotic about it once you have the right tools.
