2023 Infiniti QX60
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

Q: How fast can you get to my location in the Garden Road Area?

Usually within 30 minutes of your call, depending on where I am when you reach me. Everything is on the van: key blanks, cutting equipment, and the programming tools for the current Infiniti intelligent key system. No waiting on a service bay or a parts order.

Q: Can I get a replacement key made today?

Yes, and that's one of the real differences between calling me and going to the dealer. Infiniti dealers typically need to order the intelligent key by VIN, and owners have reported waiting several days to over a week just to get the part in. Some have waited longer for an available appointment on top of that. I stock the fob blank for the 2023 QX60 on the van and carry the tools to program it on site.

Q: My QX60 is showing a key-not-detected warning but the fob is brand new. What's going on?

This comes up more than you'd think. A few things can cause it even with a fresh battery. First, check that the CR2032 is seated flat and the contacts are making solid contact. A slightly cocked battery reads as dead to the system. Second, these fobs have a backup start procedure using the fob body itself held near the start button, which suggests the vehicle's antenna or the fob's transmitter is the actual issue rather than just battery power.

Q: I bought a replacement fob online for my 2023 QX60. Can I program it myself?

No. The current Infiniti intelligent key system does not have an owner-accessible programming sequence. There's no ignition-turn procedure or button combination that registers a new fob on this generation. It requires diagnostic equipment connected to the OBD port and security PIN access to pair a new key to the immobilizer. The fob you bought online can still be used once it's programmed, so the purchase isn't wasted. You just need someone with the right tools to finish the job.

2023 Infiniti QX60 Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

Out in the Garden Road Area of Poway, a retired executive called me about a 2023 QX60 sitting at his property. He needed a second key made. The nearest Infiniti dealer was well over an hour away, and he wasn't interested in spending most of a day on that round trip, let alone arranging a flatbed if the car ever needed to go.

He'd already called the dealer. The number they gave him was steep, and that was before factoring in transportation or a day off. He found me and asked if I covered his part of Poway. I told him I'd come to him.

I pulled up to the property with everything already on the truck. The QX60 uses the current Infiniti intelligent key setup, and I had the right fob blank and programming equipment ready to go. I pulled the PIN through the diagnostic port, registered the new fob, cut the emergency blade to match the vehicle, and walked through the full function test before I closed anything up.

Lock, unlock, the start button, the door handle sensors, the insert blade in the door cylinder. All of it confirmed on site.

He had two working keys by the time I packed up. The dealer route would have cost him more money and most of a day. Out here in Poway, especially away from the freeway corridors, mobile isn't a luxury add-on. It's just the practical way to get it done.

How long does a 2023 Infiniti QX60 key replacement take?▼

For an add-a-key job where you still have one working fob, plan on roughly 30 to 45 minutes from the time I arrive. That covers pulling the vehicle data through the OBD port, registering the new fob to the immobilizer, cutting the emergency insert blade, and running a full function test on every button and both door handles. All-keys-lost is a longer job.
