2015 Lexus IS
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

2015 Lexus IS Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

A guy in Eucalyptus Hills called me on a weeknight, around dusk. He was standing in a covered parking area, not underground, but the signal was still garbage. His only fob for his 2015 Lexus IS was gone. Checked the elevator lobby, the stairwell, his jacket twice. Nothing.

He didn't have his registration in his wallet and didn't know the VIN off the top of his head. He was already thinking about a tow, which would have meant waiting until morning and paying for storage on top of everything.

I kept him on the line. Told him to look at the base of the windshield on the driver's side, down near the dash. He found the VIN. Pulled up his insurance app for backup confirmation. That was all I needed. I already knew the fob type and had the right blank with me. I prepped everything before I left.

I met him at the car in Eucalyptus Hills. The whole job happened under the parking structure lights. New fob, transponder enrolled through the OBD port with my diagnostic equipment, the old lost fob wiped from the vehicle's memory so it can't be used if someone finds it. Then I walked every function: lock, unlock, trunk release, the panic button. Everything confirmed before I packed up.

He drove home that night. The dealer was closed, and even if they weren't, he was looking at a tow plus a multi-day wait plus a quote that would have made him wince. He got it handled on site, same night, for way less.

The VIN is the first thing I ask for. Text it before I arrive and I'll show up with exactly what the car needs.
