I was somewhere near the Spring Valley border, wrapping up another job, when the call came in. Guy in an underground parking structure in Lemon Grove. Only fob. Gone. He had checked his pockets three times, walked the stairwell, hit the elevator floor twice. Nothing. He was alone, it was late, and the structure had that particular kind of quiet that makes a lost key feel worse than it is.
