2004 Nissan Maxima Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A couple in Millenia, over in Chula Vista, had just picked up a 2004 Nissan Maxima from a used lot. Clean car, solid deal, one key. The lot told them to sort out a spare on their own, like it was a hardware store trip.
They called a Nissan dealer first. The quote they got back stopped them cold. They weren't ready for that number on a twenty-year-old Nissan. That's when they found me online and asked if the dealer price was actually real.
I told them it was real, but they didn't have to pay it.
I met them in the parking lot before they even drove it home. Pulled up, verified the VIN, confirmed the key specs. Their fob is a four-button remote head unit with the CR1616 battery. I matched the blank, decoded the cut from their existing key, cut the new one, and used my programming equipment to register both the transponder and the remote functions to their car's immobilizer. Tested every button, tested the ignition, walked around the car.
The whole thing took about thirty minutes in the lot.
They left with two working keys and a noticeably lighter bill than what the dealer quoted. One of them just kept clicking the new fob like they needed to confirm it was actually working. It was.
