I was in Santee, out near Fanita Ranch, when the call came in. A woman had just picked her kid up from a medical appointment and was sitting in the parking lot of a pharmacy with a key that would crank the engine and immediately kill it. The car was not dead. It would turn over every time. It just would not stay running. She thought it was a fuel pump or something electrical going wrong all at once.
It was not.

She had already called a tow truck before she called me. I got there before the tow did. She sent them away. The dealer would have been a next-morning appointment, a wait, and a bill she was not ready for. She got home that night, kid in the back seat, engine running the way it was supposed to.
