2011 Toyota Sienna
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in San Diego

2011 Toyota Sienna Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

I got a call on a Wednesday afternoon from a woman in the CSUSM Area of San Marcos. She was in a dentist parking lot with her 2011 Sienna, a toddler in the back seat, and a fob that had stopped being recognized by the van.

She had already called the dealer. They told her Monday. As in, come back Monday, we may need to order the fob, and expect the process to take a few days from there. She had school pickups, a full week of errands, and no backup vehicle. Monday was not a real option.

I was there that same afternoon. Pulled up, confirmed the trim, confirmed the key system. The van needed a new smart fob registered to it. I connected my programming equipment, ran through Toyota's smart key registration process, and paired the new fob to the van on site. The emergency insert key inside the fob got cut to the vehicle as well, because that blade is your fallback if the battery ever dies at the wrong moment.

Then I walked the whole system. Every button. Touch unlock on both front handles. The sliding door buttons. Confirmed the dash was reading the fob cleanly with no warning lights holding on. She watched the whole thing from about three feet away, toddler on her hip.

Wednesday call, Wednesday done. The dealer comparison came up at the end, almost as a footnote. She mentioned what they had quoted, I told her what she owed me, and she just nodded. The real win was not the price. It was that she drove home that afternoon instead of rearranging her entire week around a Monday appointment.
