2007 Audi Q7 Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Out near Oxnard Shores, I got a call about a Q7 with a cracked fob. The owner had dropped it on her garage floor and the housing had split at one of the corners. The key blade was rattling loose inside, and the whole thing felt like it was one more drop away from falling apart completely.
She had already called the dealer. They quoted her a full replacement fob, programmed from scratch. No one mentioned that the electronics inside a cracked housing can still be completely functional. The circuit board, the antenna, the chip - all of it. Just the plastic was broken.
I checked the board before doing anything else. Everything tested good. So I moved her working internals into a fresh housing, seated a new CR2032 correctly, and ran through every button to confirm the remote functions were responding. Then I tested the blade in the door and the ignition to make sure nothing got disturbed in the transfer.
The whole job was done in her driveway. She paid a fraction of what the dealer quoted for a brand new fob. Turned out she didn't need a new key at all, just a tech who would actually look at what was broken before replacing things that weren't.
