2015 Audi Q7 Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I got the call on a weeknight from a boutique hotel in the Presidio neighborhood of Santa Barbara. The guest was an attorney visiting for a case, her only key, and she was not leaving until morning.
She had tried to swap the battery herself, forced the wrong size cell in, and bent both contacts flat. The key was completely dead. Audi roadside told her the nearest dealer needed the car towed in and two business days minimum. She did not have two business days.
I was parked outside within the hour.
The fob shell had a small crack at the pry point from where she had opened it wrong the first time. The contacts were bent down enough that the new battery was floating, not touching. I straightened them, seated a fresh CR2032 the right way, and tested the remote functions before doing anything else. The blade, the lock, the unlock. All of it came back. The contacts were the whole problem.
She watched me do it on the hood of her Q7 under the parking lot light and said something like, "That is it?" Yeah, that was it. Not every call is a full programming job. Sometimes it really is just the contacts and knowing how to open the housing without cracking it further.
The dealer quote was still waiting in her voicemail when she drove off.
