Over near the Tierra Rejada Golf Club neighborhood in Moorpark, a woman flagged me down to her S5 in a school pickup lot. Pediatrician. Patients starting early the next morning and zero margin to lose a day at a dealer.
Her 3-button flip key had been acting up for about a week. Comfort access stopped detecting it entirely. I popped the IYZ3314 shell open on the hood while she watched. The CR2032 looked fine voltage-wise but the internal hinge had a hairline crack, and the board was shifting just enough to lose consistent contact with the battery clip. That explains the intermittent behavior.
Programmed a fresh replacement flip key through OBD using my VVDI Prog to pull the immobilizer data off the cluster EEPROM. The BCM2 module on these B8 platform Audis stores the key data, so once I had the PIN extraction done, the new key went in clean. Tested comfort access on both front doors, the trunk release, push-to-start, and all three remote buttons.
She pulled out of that lot with two working keys and made her morning clinic on time. The dealer had quoted her three days out just for an appointment.
