2010 Audi S5 Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
The Collection area in Oxnard pulls a certain kind of call. Nice cars, busy people, zero patience for a tow and a waiting room. This one fit that pattern exactly.
A guy had his 2010 S5 sitting in the parking structure near the shops. The flip key had taken a hit - dropped on pavement, the blade pivot cracked, and the fob housing split at the seam. The remote still chirped weakly when he pushed the buttons but the blade would not lock open. He had been holding the two pieces together to start the car for three days, which is exactly as sketchy as it sounds.
He called the dealer first. They quoted him a wait on the blank and told him to schedule an appointment once the part arrived. He was not interested in that timeline.
I pulled into the structure, found him near the stairwell. Popped my diagnostic gear onto the OBD port, pulled up the Audi key management screen, identified the registered keys, and walked through enrollment on the new remote flip key. Blade cut on site to match his lock. Tested lock, unlock, and the third button. Tested the blade in the door and ignition. Everything confirmed.
He asked if the dealer would have done it faster if he had just shown up and waited. I told him they would have sent him home first to wait for the part. He nodded like he already knew that.
The car never moved. He did not miss whatever he had going that afternoon. That is the whole job.
