2009 Audi S5 Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A retired surgeon over near Rustic Canyon Golf Course in Moorpark called about his 2009 S5. He used a cane. His aide was off that day. Getting across town to an Audi dealer was not just an inconvenience, it was a real logistical problem that involved arranging a ride, waiting around in a service lobby, then arranging another ride back. He told me all of this in about ten seconds, like he was used to solving problems fast.
His only flip key had a blade so worn the teeth were almost flat on two cuts. The ignition wafers were fighting it every morning, and he had started jiggling and forcing it. That is how you turn a worn key into a broken ignition cylinder.
I decoded his ignition with an HU66 Lishi, reading each wafer position to get the original cuts. Cut a fresh HU66 blade from the decode, swapped it into a new 4F0 837 220 shell, and moved his existing Megamos 48 chip over. Tested the remote, all three buttons, lock, unlock, trunk. Then ran the blade through the ignition a few times to make sure the wafer spring-back felt right.
He watched from a bench near the entrance. Never had to leave the building. The whole thing took about 40 minutes. He just nodded and said "that's it?" like he expected it to be harder.
Getting to the dealer was the part he could not do. I skipped that part for him.
