2009 Audi S5 Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Over near Peach Hill in Moorpark, a retired surgeon called me from the medical plaza parking lot. He had a cane and his aide was off that day. Getting across town to an Audi dealer was not a minor inconvenience. It was a logistics problem with no clean solution.
His only flip key had gotten stubborn in the ignition. Not dead, just worn. The blade was fighting the lock every time he turned it, and he had started babying it just to get the car started. That is the kind of thing you ignore for months until one morning it does not turn at all.
I drove out to the plaza. He stood at the hood and watched the whole job. I decoded the ignition lock using a pick tool for that keyway, read the wafer positions, and cut a fresh blade to match. Then I rebuilt the flip assembly into a new shell, kept his existing programmed chip intact in the transfer, and tested the remote against the locks and the key in the ignition.
The part that mattered to him: he never left the building. No dealer appointment, no waiting room, no borrowed ride. Just a working key and a short walk back inside.
He mentioned the dealer had quoted him a number that made him hesitate. What he paid me was a fraction of that, and the job was done before lunch.
