His truck uses a B111-PT transponder key, FCC ID YGOG20TB1, with a separate remote fob. The immobilizer learn took one 10-minute security cycle and the new key fired the engine on the first turn.
He was back on the highway in under an hour from when he called, and the total was 85. The dealer would have charged 186 minimum plus a tow and a multi-day wait. A snapped key at a rest area feels like a disaster. For these older GM trucks, it's one of the simplest jobs I do.
