I got a call from a Hollywood Beach address on a Sunday evening. The owner of a 2014 LR2 had been to a waterfront dinner and come back to a car that would not acknowledge her key at all. No click when she grabbed the handle, no response from the start button, nothing. She had tried holding the fob closer to the button, which is the thing everyone tries.

She mentioned she had already called the Land Rover dealer earlier in the day. They were closed. Their earliest availability was the following Wednesday, which would have meant three days without a car and then a wait for parts on top of that. We took care of it the same night, parked ten feet from the seawall.
