Got a call from a body shop over near Springville Park in Camarillo. A 2018 Lincoln MKC had been sitting there after fender work, and another locksmith had already tried an all-keys-lost job on it. Mid-programming, the car battery sagged. The BCM, module 7A, threw a security fault and locked everything out. That other tech told the shop the body control module was fried and left.
The shop called me. I could hear the doubt in the guy's voice. He had already told his customer it might need a tow to the Lincoln dealer in Oxnard.
I showed up with my jump pack and clamped it on before touching anything else. Stable 12.6 volts, no dips. Then I pulled fault codes with my IM608. The BCM had a U0164 and a B1083, both tied to the interrupted security handshake. On these push-to-start MKCs, the immobilizer logic lives in the BCM, not the PCM like the older PATS turn-key setups. Once I cleared the faults and confirmed the module was actually responding clean, I ran a fresh Intelligent Access key learn sequence. The new M3N-A2C940780 fob registered on the first pass.
About an hour and forty minutes start to finish. The body shop guy watched most of it and kept asking if it was really done. It was. His customer avoided a flatbed ride, a multi-day dealer wait, and a bill that would have been a lot heavier than mine.
