Got a call from someone near Seabridge Marketplace in Oxnard. Their 2001 Aztek keys were stolen out of a bag, and they were not just locked out. They were worried about someone coming back and driving the car off.

On these GMT360-platform GMs, the PassLock II system ties the security authorization to the BCM, not to a chip inside the key blade. So the reset clears the learned resistor values and any paired remote data from the old L2C0007T fobs. Then I cut a fresh B99-profile key, ran the relearn procedure, and registered two new keys in one session.
The owner stood there watching me work on the hood. Kept looking over her shoulder at the parking lot. I get it. When your keys are stolen it is not just an inconvenience, it sits in the back of your head.
Once both keys passed the security relearn and the remotes locked and unlocked clean, I had her start it twice herself. She needed to see it with her own hands. After the second start she finally relaxed.
The old keys and remotes are worthless now. They will crank the engine but the PassLock will kill fuel delivery every time. That is the whole point.
