2011 Porsche Panamera Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A Euro performance shop over in the Alta Mesa area of Santa Barbara called me about a 2011 Panamera that was completely dead to any key. Another locksmith had attempted an all-keys-lost procedure, and something went sideways during the KESSY module bench read. Power interruption, wrong adapter connection, no backup taken first. The module locked up. The car would not recognize any fob at all.
The shop had already spent a week going back and forth with the first tech. They were about to tow it to the dealer when someone on a Rennlist thread mentioned mobile locksmiths who do board-level Porsche recovery. That led them to me.
I pulled the KESSY module, board number 970.618.503, and set up my ACDP on a bench right in their shop bay. Soldered to the test points on the EEPROM chip to read the security data directly. Once I had the CS and ISK values extracted, I generated a fresh key file, wrote it to a new KR55WK50138 five-button proximity fob, reinstalled the module, and ran fault clears through the OBD port.
The whole thing took about two and a half hours, which is longer than a normal key job. But the alternative was shipping the module out or towing to the dealer for a process that could take a week or more and cost way more than what I charged.
I walked the shop guys through what had gone wrong so they would know the signs if it ever came up again. They were mostly quiet. Just relieved the car was alive.
