2016 Porsche Panamera Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A veterinary surgeon near La Cumbre Plaza in Santa Barbara called me about her 2016 Panamera. Another locksmith had made her a smart key. It started the car once. She drove home, parked, went inside. The next morning, push-to-start was completely dead. The fob did nothing. No remote lock, no start authorization, nothing.

I pulled up and connected my VVDI2 in VAG mode to read the KESSY module data. What I found was a chip mismatch. The previous tech had used a transponder that was close to spec but not correctly matched to her specific KESSY generation. Close does not count with Porsche immobilizer verification. The system accepted it once, ran its background revalidation cycle, and then rejected it permanently on the next start attempt.
I programmed a correctly matched Hitag Pro chip into a new KR55WK50138 fob, part number 7PP-959-753-BQ, and cut a fresh emergency blade. Then the boring part: three clean cold starts, full remote function check on all five buttons, walk-away lock test, and approach unlock test.
She stood by the hood watching the third ignition cycle like she was waiting for it to betray her again. It did not.
The difference between a key that works and one that works once is chip accuracy. She paid a fraction of what the dealer quoted her.
