2018 Porsche Panamera Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
She texted me at 11:40 at night. An anesthesiologist finishing an overnight shift at a Santa Barbara hospital, walking out to a parking lot by herself, needing a spare key made for her 2018 Porsche Panamera. She said she'd already looked up my BSIS license number before she sent the message.
I respect that. When someone hands a mobile tech access to a vehicle worth six figures, checking credentials is exactly what they should do. My license is public record on the BSIS website under LCO#6792. She'd done the work.
By the time I pulled into the lot she had her registration out and knew what she needed: one additional smart key, programmed and working, so she wasn't running on a single fob anymore.
The job on these requires pulling factory security data through NASTF to get the vehicle PIN before programming can even start. That's not a workaround or a shortcut. That's the correct procedure. I ran it, enrolled the new fob, confirmed the immobilizer recognized it, and verified the keyless entry functions before I called it done.
She asked if the dealer could have done the same thing. Sure. She also would have needed an appointment, probably a tow during business hours if it had been an all-keys-lost situation, and the quote she'd already gotten was a number that made her call me instead.
I was back on the 101 before 1 a.m.
